Some Thoughts on Galatians (4/22/13)

Jackie Rettberg

Some thoughts and a prayer for ministry leaders based on Paul’s letter to the Galatians:

Some thoughts:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father to whom be glory forever and ever.

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel that is really no gospel at all!

Are you now trying to win the approval of women or of God?

Did you receive the Spirit by observing the law or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit are you now trying to attain your ministry goals by human effort?

A prayer:

Lord, I confess I have deserted you who called me by grace and instead I have been attempting to grow this ministry through human effort! Forgive my foolishness!

Thank you for reminding me my goal is to serve you and to depend on you to open doors. Thank you for reminding me that first and foremost you simply desire that I might become more like you as I learn to trust you in every area of my life. Thank you for the eternal fruit you will bring forth as I pray that same goal for those whom you have brought into my sphere of influence.

Nothing will hinder my heart, fully surrendered and quietly trusting in you, because nothing can hinder you!

I will be as Abraham, one who believes and is considered righteous because of my belief and I will stand firm in the freedom for which you have set me free!

In Jesus’s name.
