Springs Southern California TEAM
"A Taste of Springs" Team
Each of the women helping to facilitate this retreat have been in ministry for years. They have found that time alone with the Lord rekindles their devotion for him. Knowing the mystery of the Lord's love (Eph. 3:14-21) has been of first importance in their Christian life and the passion that energizes their ministries.
Susan recently retired from serving as the Director of Womens Ministries at the Evangelical Free Church of Huntington Beach. She was on the very first Springs team in 1998, and helped to lead that retreat until 2011. Susan attends Beach Bible Church.
Luann is the president of NEWIM and a co-facilitator of the Springs Retreat in northern California. She is the author of Journal Keeping: Writing for Spiritual Growth. She is also a pastor's wife—her husband Kevin is the pastor of New Life Covenant Church in San Jose, California.
Cheri is a graduate of Talbot Seminary and the California Graduate Institute. She has been in private practice as a marriage and family therapist for almost twenty years (she will not be serving in her professional role at the retreat). She serves on the NEWIM Board of Directors and attends St. James Anglican Church in Tustin, California.
Kim Lomakin has completed a B.A. in Christian Education at Biola University and a M.A. in Christian Ministry and Leadership at Talbot Theological Seminary. She has served as an Assistant Director of High School and College Ministries for 11 years as well as a Co-Director of Women’s Ministries for 4 years. She has been married to her husband, David, for 13 years and they have twin girls. Currently, she is a stay-at-home mom and serves in Women’s Ministry at her local church, Pacific Coast Church.
Christy works as a genetic counselor in Modesto, California. She is married to a fellow Westmont College graduate and they have two children. She enjoys being involved with children's and women's ministries and she finds great joy co-leading women's retreats. She attends Mountain View Church in Oakdale.
