Settling in and Opening Worship

Begin your online retreat

Settle In and Open with Worship

We invite you to set aside an hour or two.

Let Luann lead you in the first 45 minutes of worship as you begin your retreat. Then spend the rest of your time doing whatever activities or devotional practices draw you close to the Lord. You may want to select a Worship Playlist to conclude your time.

In the privacy of your own space, please join in singing, lifting your arms, kneeling, or closing your eyes in worship. Have your Bible, a journal and pen nearby. Using headphones/air pods will immerse you in the music. You may enjoy creating your space with a candle, a vase of flowers, or art supplies. Our hope is that these videos will lead you to open your heart in Adoration.

Note: To comply with copyright law, we didn’t embed copyrighted music in our videos. The music we suggest in the first video, follows it (the second video). When one video ends, click on the next one to continue. You can watch these videos individually or use this Playlist to move from one video to the next automatically on YouTube—click “play all” and you just sit back and worship. (If ads appear you may want to turn on an AdBlocker, or simply wait a few seconds and click to “skip ad.”) If the volume is too soft, be sure to adjust the volume on both your computer as well as in the YouTube window. You can also create a new playlist of your own incorporating any of these segments with worship videos of your own choosing.

If you are using these videos with a small group and would like to maintain an individual retreat experience, you might encourage people to watch them individually on their smartphone or tablet using earbuds at the beginning of their retreat and then spend time on their own in silence.

If you prefer to watch the individual videos below, one after another, pausing if needed, as you worship and journal.

Please note: YouTube will automatically play a random video once the one you watch ends. If you would like to avoid this interruption, use this playlist: “Click to Watch: Online Retreat” and press pause as needed.

“Shout to the Lord” and “Agnus Dei”, Live

Our worship has focused our hearts on the truths that God is holy and he is near. Alleluia. We’ve listened to Revelation 19 and Psalm 139 and considered where we might be hearing an invitation from the Lord. We’ve lifted our hearts in praise. We hope that you found yourself adoring the Lord.

Adoration. Confession. Thanksgiving. Supplication. A-C-T-S is a common pattern you might follow as you continue your retreat. If you are looking for other ways to spend time with the Lord during your retreat, see the Christian Devotional Practices handout or one of the retreat guides.

May the Lord richly bless you, as you seek him.
