I Am With You
Luann Budd
Are you going through a challenging season of ministry?
Are you having trouble seeing where God is in it?
Matthew Henry’s words have encouraged me so many times over the years.
“The God of Israel is sometimes a God who hides Himself, but never a God who absents Himself; sometimes in the dark, but never at a distance.”
We may not see God, but he is right next to us. We may feel alone, but we are not. We may get discouraged because we aren't seeing the results we had hoped for, but we press on. We may feel the opposition is too much, but as Paul says: "Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart...We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed" (2 Cor. 4:1, 8). The Lord is with us. He has given us this ministry by his mercy, and he will get us through.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)
